We join our character again on a beautiful clear day

I think today we might take a bit of time off to explore some of the various NPCs around the starting encampment. The first we'll look at is the Corporal. These NPCs give you a lot of various missions ranging from finding monsters to foraging...

Let's see what animals we have to find....

Seems easy enough...

... and it was! It's only a hundred Dappers (the currency) but it's nothing to sneeze at.

This NPC has the title "Apprentice overseer" - all his quests have to do with crafting. And then there's the supplier (whom you're introduced to during the intro quest)

The supplier gives you quests to visit other towns and give things to NPCs. Occasionally they're timed. One thing that's worth noting about the quests is that the missions available at one supplier (or Corporal or whatever) aren't the same as all the others on the camp, so be sure to explore.

These friendly looking people are the guards. They don't do much other than guard...

But if you happen to be in trouble near the camp...

They come in real handy!

Another important set of NPCs are the Karavan. This mysterious race of nomads will act as guides or, in this case, teleport you off the island. There's no going back, and we're not ready, so we'll save this for later (On the final day we'll go see what it's like!) Anyway, other than the welcomer, trainers, and vendors that's about it. Speaking of vendors, let's purchase a firearm!

No waiting period, no need to learn skills (you can just Fight with a gun) and we're ready. Except, we need ammo.

Ouch, a little expensive. Oh well, it ought to be pretty cool anyway!

Bang! The gun does a very good amount of damage, but takes an ammo each shot. One thing that's worth mentioning is that abilities that use certian stanzas can't be used with a gun - when creating an Action it greys out icons for weapons that aren't usable with it. Increase Damage doesn't work (and therefore our hybride Increase Damage/Accurate attack also doesnt) but the regular Accurate Attack does.

Show off!

Well, that's a good stop off place for today. Tommorow I'll spend some skillpoints and learn Foraging and Crafting - and we'll explore the deep, customizable crafting system! Till then, see you!
